Our card reader blocker contains an antenna and a chip. When incoming radio waves pass over your wallet, the card will create an interference signal within a radius of up to 5 cm. This technology doesn't interfere with phone signals, Bluetooth, WiFi or any phone functions except NFC, so it can be used in a phone case without any problems.
With a thickness of just 1mm, our anti-theft card easily fits into any purse, wallet, credit card case or phone card holder. Simply place the RFID card blocker with your smart cards or passport for complete RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and NFC (Near Field Communication) protection.
The RFID blocker uses incoming radio waves from RFID scanners and card readers to create an interference signal, so there is no need to use batteries or recharge them.
What is NFC/RFID skimming?
It's surprisingly simple, at least in theory.
NFC/RFID skimming involves hackers/skimmers/thieves intercepting the radio wave communications between devices or simply reading the radio waves that an NFC or RFID-enabled device is transmitting.
In most cases, the thief's specially modified reader reads the data transmitted from your device or payment/credit card. It can then capture this information and use it to its advantage.
Since small-amount payments usually don't require a PIN, a small amount can be charged to your card without your cooperation - and if you don't have card payment alerts set up and pay attention to checking your card charges, you may not even notice the unauthorized charge.
The same goes for various identification cards, key chains and tags.
